Angel and Straitjacket

38 x 40 ins. Oil on Canvas, c.1990. Note the hypodermic syringe in the base of the cross that the straitjacket and angel are hanging from. This is an immensely humane painting, a plea to understand that the madman/woman are not defined by the straitjacket nor by the notice above the cross but by a common spiritual sensitivity exemplified in music.
